What am I responsible for?

Our suppliers are responsible for repairs and maintenance to your home, however we ask that you look after your SFA as much as you can, to prevent damage.

Looking after your home:

  • Report any problems in a timely manner and taking steps to help prevent maintenance issues
  • Ensure contractors have access to your home to carry out mandatory inspections, especially gas and electrical safety
  • Keep your home in a reasonable condition and protect it from damage during the time you occupy SFA

In addition, you need to take care of:

  • Changing domestic fuses and light bulbs
  • Taking precautions to prevent damage to the SFA by fire, frost, the bursting of water pipes and the blocking of drains
  • Clearing any sink or bath blockages
  • Routine testing and cleaning of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Resetting of electrical trip switches due to faulty bulbs

We also advise you:

  • Arrange a Pre Move-out appointment at least one calendar month before your Move-out date and then prepare your home to the defined Move-out standard
  • Engage with Customer Satisfaction surveys to help us improve our service to you
  • Treat our staff with respect. We understand how important your home is to you and that it can be stressful when things go wrong, and this can affect how you communicate with us. However, we still expect you to behave appropriately and treat our staff with consideration. We are doing our best to support you and will not tolerate abusive, threatening, or violent behaviour and will take action where appropriate
